Disk health monitoring settings

Last updated on Jan 21, 2026

On the Disk health tab of the settings dialog you can configure disk health monitoring and protection.

Enable health monitoring for a disk to periodically check its health using the SMART technology.

Enable thermal protection for a disk to protect it from overheating. If its temperature will rise above the set threshold, defragmentation will be paused till the disk cools down and you will receive a notification, both in the app and in Windows Action Center, to make sure you won’t miss any abnormal and thus potentially dangerous temperature spikes.

Enable integrity protection for a disk to protect your data from being lost. If the disk will begin to show signs of imminent failure, defragmentation will be stopped automatically and, again, you will be notified, to make sure you won’t miss the opportunity to back up your files before the disk eventually fails.
