One-click defragmentation of individual files and folders

Last updated on May 19, 2024

Sometimes you may want to defragment individual files and folders rather than the entire disks. Follow this step by step guide to learn how to do it.

  1. Select the files and folders you want to defragment in Windows Explorer.

  2. Click the right mouse button and select UltraDefrag > Defragment. For folders you may choose also to defragment the folder itself rather than its contents.

  3. Wait till the defragmentation completion.

  4. If you see that some files are still fragmented click Show report to open a file fragmentation report to find out why they are fragmented and what can be done to fix that.

  5. Close the window.
